They say "You can't teach and old dog new tricks." But in the world of Apple computing technology, the dynamic world wide web, website design, internet marketing, search engine optimization, site promotion and link building - change is constant and implicit. And either you have the mojo to adapt to and ride this wave - or you and your website can get left in the dust. I've been been participating in the world wide web since the early 1990's when the NCSA Mosaic browser was in fashion, before Netscape, when it was only beginning to be possible to surf the web on a Mac. And frankly, I'm exhausted. Or would be if it weren't for the endless possibilites that the Macintosh and internet provide to explore and share in this amazing Global Village called the internet.

Through all of this, I've been using a Mac for website development and deployment, for SEM SEO tasks, and Mac internet marketing purposes. So much has changed in the world of Search in general, in search engine optimization techniques, and backlink building on the Mac. Tho a few dedicated standalone Mac SEO software packages exist, there's been a huge transition to SAAS - Software As A Service, and many website submission and promotion tools are now web-based and work with Apple's Safari browser or Firefox for Mac. No separate OSX app needed and these SEO tools are implicitly cross platform compatible.

But even with the best Mac SEO apps, link building and social media marketing tools and tactics -- getting seen on the internet, and past Google's punitive site evaluation algos has become quite a challenge. The internet is shrinking as millions of websites, mine and yours included, just can't make it Page One of Google search results anymore.

Successful internet and affiliate marketing requires a hell of alot of stamina and determination. Competition for eyeballs is fierce these days, and the risk of penalties and traffic loss is greater than ever before. Sadly, the 'easy' days of making money online are largely gone. But there's still a million and one ways to leverage the internet to your advantage, and a million and one dollars you could be sending your way - as long as you're willing to ride the ups and downs that every internet marketer experiences.

I'm literally a rags to riches and back to rags story myself, but that hasn't stopped me and my MacBook from trying. Once you've tasted the utter FREEDOM that a daily, largely passive income stream that comes owning a portfolio of internet properties and niche websites, you won't want to give that up. Making money literally 'while you sleep' is still possible if you're willing to do what 9 out of 10 other webmaster's aren't.
